Ridgefield & District to Join Forces
The City of Ridgefield and the District have adopted a two-party Memorandum of Understanding that will transfer ownership of Ridgefield's local wastewater collection system to the District. This shared service approach will improve value for both customer bases. Ridgefield customers will join a much larger rate payer base, which will help buffer future system expansion costs. District customers will benefit from adding an area zoned to accommodate future employment. The addition of industrial and commercial users can stabilize long-term rates for all customers.
