About CRWWD

Welcome to Clark Regional Wastewater District

The Clark Regional Wastewater District is a special purpose District that was formed in 1958 by a group of businessmen who foresaw a time when septic systems would be inadequate to meet the sewer service needs of the area’s growing populations.

Facilities

We have over 382miles of sewer lines and 49 pump stations serving approximately 34,000 Equivalent Residential Units (ERUs), with a population of over 80,000.

District Commissioners

The Board of Commissioners is elected by residents within the District to serve six-year staggered terms. There are three positions – President, Vice President and Secretary.

Relationship with Clark County

The District is located in Clark County, Washington. Sometimes mistaken as a department of Clark County government, we are an entirely separate agency in both management and funding. The confusion was one of the deciding factors in returning to our original name.

The District has not operated a sewage treatment facility since 1975, and we currently contract with Clark County Public Works and the City of Vancouver for treatment services. These costs represent approximately 60% of our annual operating budget.
